Bowling Green – A Bustling Community
Located in southwestern Kentucky, Bowling Green dates back to 1775. It was once the provisional capital of the Kentucky Territory. Today, this bustling community is the third-largest in the state, supported in part by a strong manufacturing base.
Bowling Green is a very active community with much to see and do. Beech Bend Park & Splash Lagoon is the perfect family summer destination. Get back to nature in a big way with exciting underground boat tours. And Mammoth Cave National Park, with the largest known underground cave system in the world, is just 30 miles away.
Auto enthusiasts will love the one and only National Corvette Museum, the GM Corvette Assembly Plant, and the Beech Bend Raceway, which offers drag racing, oval track, and campgrounds.
Much of Bowling Green’s rich history has survived thanks to the efforts of preservationist societies. Among many other community attractions, the Kentucky Museum, the Historic Railpark and Train Museum, Aviation Heritage Park, and South Union Shaker Village beckon history buffs.
